The Ministry of International Trade et al, in collaboration with The Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) of the Organization of American States (OAS), through the Department of Economic Development (DED), has initiated phase II of the project “Establishment of Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) in CARICOM Member States”.
The Ministry of International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs through its Business Support Unit, the National Entrepreneurial Development Division (NEDD) along with a number of relevant stakeholders have successfully completed the required training in order to adapt to the United States developed SBDC model. The necessary MOUs have been signed and the Ministry is now moving to the implementation of the project.
In this regard, the Ministry is collaborating with the Department of youth to stage the official launch of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC St. Kitts) on November 16th, at Independence Square. The official launch of the SBDC also coincides with the weeklong celebration of entrepreneurs and their activities which is internationally known as Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The general public is therefore invited to witness the official launch of SBDC St. Kitts will be followed by the Entrepreneurs Trade Fair. The launch and opening ceremony commences at 10 am and the Trade Fair runs until 5 pm.
